SOAR Checklist

Please use this schedule to guide you through the summer months as you prepare to start your journey at McMurry University! If you are eager to get started, you may start working through these tasks before your selected SOAR date. You are able to fill out and complete these forms on-campus as well during your visit.

  • Register for SOAR week
  • Submit Enrollment/ Housing Deposit through your Application Portal (Required to receive your schedule)
  • Activate your McMurry student e-mail
    After you submit your enrollment deposit, a McMurry e-mail account is created for you and you wil receive an email to the address you provided on your admissions application.  This will provide you with login information and instructions.


  • Submit vaccination record with proof of:
    • Bacterial Meningitis Immunization received within the last five years. (Required to receive your schedule) This is an important Health requirement stipulated by the State of Texas. Please take the time to read an important letter provided by this governmental authority.
    • Two MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubela) since the age of 1 year.
  • Submit Health Form
  • Submit Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire
  • Submit a copy of the front and back of your Medical Insurance Card


  • Review the First Year Seminar Course Descriptions. Descriptions and a preference survey will be sent directly to your email before your SOAR date. Make sure to keep an eye out for it!
  • Submit your unofficial Dual Credit transcript from any College/University that these courses were taken. Please upload through your Application Portal

    To obtain an official transcript, contact the College/University registrar office that you took dual credit courses with. Official transcripts should be mailed to:

  • Submit TSI/Accuplacer test scores if you have taken the tests already. Please submit scores through your Application Portal
    If you have taken or plan to take an AP (Advanced Placement) Test please request that test scores be sent to McMurry University from College Board.
  • Submit Final Official High School Transcript. Official transcripts should be mailed to:

  • Complete academic placement test(s). All tests will be assigned to you via your McM e-mail after we receive your TSI/Accuplacer scores. Test(s) must be completed within your SOAR week.


McMurry University requires all new and transfer students to complete two online training programs (listed below). Please click on either course to access information about logging in to take the courses. Both courses should appear once you are logged-in on the SafeColleges website.

  • Orientation- to be completed during SOAR week! Access will be given at a later date based on your SOAR week.



  • Submit Application for Disability Services and provide documentation (If applicable)
  • Application for Disability Services
    In order to receive special accommodations for testing, your student must first complete the Application for Disability Services and provide adequate documentation of his/her disability from a qualified professional such as a licensed psychologist or a diagnostician who has evaluated the student with the last three years.   • Housing Assignments- Apply through your Application Portal
  • Meal Plan Options
  • Student ID
    • Please make sure that your picture meets the following criteria:

      1. Solid white/light colored background (a wall) so that you show up better on your ID card.
      2. Head & Shoulders shot looking straight at camera. No angles please.
      3. No filters
      4. No hats
      5. Send as a JPG

  • Parking Permit
  • Campus Mailbox: You will sign-up for a campus mailbox during check-in day in August
